KUBOTEK DEMONSTRATES INTEGRATED DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING PROCESS AT EASTEC 2005
Kubotek M3 Vision Enables Design Shops and Manufacturers to More Effectively Compete in the Global Marketplace
Marlborough, MA - May 19, 2005 - At this month's Eastec 2005 Eastern States Exposition (May 24-26, Springfield, MA), Kubotek USA will be demonstrating its M3 vision at its booth, #1619. The Kubotek M3 SM bi-directional engineering process - detailing measuring, modeling and machining -- is an innovative strategy that will enable smaller design shops and manufacturers to compete more effectively in the global marketplace. Kubotek provides a strategy for small-to-medium sized companies that recognize the limits of today's commonly used CAD/CAM tools and takes into account how design and manufacturing engineers really think, design and manufacture new products.
At the Kubotek Eastec booth, visitors will see an integrated demonstration of the M3 bi-directional engineering process using Kubotek CAD/CAM software, and both an articulated arm contact probe, and a Kubotek 3-axis laser scan RPT (rapid prototype) machine. All three products are seamlessly integrated into the design and manufacturing process. Visitors to the Kubotek booth will also be entered to win an iPodT music player.
In an M3 manufacturing environment, designers can capture real-world data by scanning a physical item, then change the item (customize, iterate, warp or distort it) and quickly produce the item, either prototyping to determine manufacturability or to quickly produce a finished product. This equates to a much faster and higher quality cycle from conception to time-to-market. It breaks down the barriers between functions, enabling teams to iterate and refine a design in hours instead of days or weeks.
"Engineers who design products or manufacturing equipment based on models created by others need to be able to efficiently share their ideas," said Robert Bean, chief operating officer, Kubotek USA. "Industrial engineers need access to the product specifications and models for in-process assembly and fabrication drawings. Manufacturing engineers need to be able to modify designs based on what machine tools are available at the time. They need to modify designs to align with different manufacturing techniques or if the part is designed in a way that does not allow cost-effective assembly practices."
Kubotek KeyCreator builds on the heritage of CADKEY, the first true 3D MCAD software for the desktop. KeyCreator combines both the latest in geometry-based design and modeling technology, and a legacy of success in helping customers in the design of tooling, complex machinery, fixtures, molds, dies in a multitude of product development industries including automotive, aerospace, heavy equipment, sports equipment, medical device, and many more.
The KeyCreator creation engineering product line includes multidimensional design and drafting, NC programming and reverse engineering capabilities. The rapidly expanding product line features the company's unique geometry-based foundation with Direct Feature EditingT and sophisticated deformation techniques. These capabilities are particularly useful for design teams working with advanced designs of solid models because KeyCreator blends surface, solids and wireframe modeling, allowing easy modification and editing functionality.
